Chief Minister unveils KSTDC’s new services - Karnataka Taxis

Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa today flagged off a new city taxi service operated by The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation. The new metered taxi service that will be operated under the brand ‘Karnataka Taxis’ will have a fleet of 100 cars and will operate to and from the Bengaluru International Airport and within city as well.

Tourism Minister G Janardhana Reddy who was present at the function said that this is yet another new initiative of the govt to ensure seamless connectivity between the new airport and the city. Speaking to reporters, Managing Director, KSTDC Mr. Vinay Luthra said that in all Karnataka Taxis will operate 200 cars, of which the first batch that services the Bengaluru International Airport will start services immediately.

Among the features of the Karnataka Taxis are, complimentary water bottles for passengers, electronic meters and receipts, and also information literature on Karnataka. Those wishing to make a booking for the service from the city can make use of the national call centre number, 42525555 that operates out of the newly commissioned backend service centre at the Tourism House on St. Mark’s Road. Callers can book a service with a lead time of 30-45 minutes.
